Four Loco

Will Four Loco be banned in Pennsylvania?

Pennsylvania, as well as other states, are researching banning Four Loco.

Four Loco is already illegal in several states including Oregon and New York, where it was banned in November 2010.

Utah never never allowed the sale of this college student favorite.

The health of those who partake in this drink is the reason for the bans. The FDA commented

that Four Loco and other alcoholic energy drinks are "public health concern".

Should states restrict the sales of a beverage that combines two legal components: energy

drink and alcohol? Four Loco's increasing difficulty to find in addition to it's "bad-boy" image

increases this adults' only beverage's appeal. Is the government cementing Four Loco's

location at the top of the "hot list" by declaring it illegal, therefore pushing more college

students to search

for a way to indulge in this canned liquid?

  1. I have heard that drinking 1 or more of these results in almost imminent blacking out and the most severe hang overs. IT is likened to having alot of red bulls and vodka's which have the same effect, speeding up your body with sugars but slowing down your brain with alcohol.

I would just stick with the beers.

  2. I agree with the banning of these drinks in
PA. Kids underage get a hold of these drinks and drink way too much and die as the result. There does not need to be a alcoholic drink with an energy drink mixed into it. Energy drink are bad already for you alone mixing it with alcohol. We've seen results from this drink all over so good call with banning it. Technology has gone to far here!

  3. Restricted it only allows people to want it even more. People can get more of it even if it is banned. Rather than banning it, the government should up the price for it and should only sell it in state issue stores. People can go further and lock the beverage behind the counter. The customer will have to ask and therefore asking for ID. It is a horrible drink to have, but also maybe it is a fundamental change we need to the drinking society. We need to educate drinking in moderation to prevention any kind of dangerous over drinking.

  4. Great post. I have a couple of cases still left in the basement. These drinks are pretty strong, but I wouldn’t call them black out in a can. I don’t think these types of drinks should be banned. Just because a product is dangerous and can be abused doesn’t necessarily mean the government needs to ban it. I mean you can still buy a Red Bull and vodka and make the same drink yourself. Someone can still go to a bar and order a long island ice tea. If we are ok with the government telling us what we can and can’t drink, what’s next on the ban list? What we need is less government not more. This is just a small issue but the more we allow government to tell us what is allowed and what is not, the less free we are.

  5. I Think it should be banned, this is harmful beverage and drinking a lot of can be harmful. No one should get hurt because someone had a stupid idea to make a drink called 4loko. I have never had it myself, i dont plan on buying or finding it online. I dont want to kill myself. Good post
